What is the strategy...and why do you need it?

The strategy is the computer code that is specific to your vehicle. All SCT devices will read the strategy of the truck by simply plugging it into the OBD2 port under the dash and choosing Vehicle Info->Read Strategy. Using the strategy read from your computer, we can be sure we have the most recent code on your truck.

What site do I go to if I want to check for upgrades for my SCT?

What are the tunes you offer and what are the HP and Torque numbers for each?

We offer a variety of programs, based on the year, model, and make of your vehicle. Please check our website for your specific vehicle to see the power numbers.

How many tunes can my SCT hold?

SCT Devices hold 3 custom tunes. The X3 and Livewire also contain base program from SCT.

Can I use my SCT Xcal 2 or SCT X-3 on my 2008 Ford 6.4L Truck?

Currently only the Livewire is available for the 2008+ 6.4L trucks.

What options can I have installed on my custom tunes?

Some options that are available are:
Converter locking, continous convertor lock(converter stays locked when you let off the throttle), aggressive tow/haul mode, Pilot Injection(quiets the engine at idle), turbo braking(jake brake style program), and specific options for off road racing or truck pulling.

Is there any more stress on my headbolts by installing the SCT tuner and what does it do for my transmission?

We have programs specifically built for trucks with stock head bolts and stock transmissions. Your truck will gain mileage, performance, better shifting, increase transmission life, and still maintain reliability. For those who want to take it to the next level, we also have race and pulling programs.

What information do you need from me before I place my order as far as my truck or car?

When you place your order, we just need to know the year, make, and model of the vehicle. We would like to know what kind of modifications you have.

When or why should I let the dealer reflash or reprogram my truck....will it help with my cold start isssues?

Always return to stock programming before going to the dealer. Ford reflashes address issues that are found with the existing programming. It's much like a service patch or hot fix for issues with your home computer. In most cases, they aren't a necessity. After a reflash, you may need new program for your vehicle.

I have a MAC computer can I download tunes from it or do I need Windows?

Sorry, the SCT software only supports Windows platforms at this time.

How long after I place my order can I expect to see my custom tunes? Whats your normal turnaround time for sending them out?

Our custom tunes are emailed daily. The same day we receive your strategy, you will receive your programs. If it's a weekend or later in the day, you may receive them the next day.
